Quoted from a letter to a colleague:

I've started to draw a comic, which was purely begun by accident. I have long wanted to fully express my concerns of social vs. anti-social behavior in a screenplay. I started to write that (thematically I guess it's an adaptation of the French lai Bisclavret) and felt inspired to storyboard some of it. I started to do that and then found myself attracted to a tangent which I couldn't surpress drawing.

I've drawn for about 10 hours straight today completing a cover page and then three interior pages. My paneling is very simplistic and shows what a novice I am with the medium, but my drawings have been very good. I decided to approach it straight off with pen, no preliminary pencil work, just pen. I draw so solidly and harshly I practically emboss each piece of paper. It comes out very sharp and brutal.

My mom chastises me for being too depedent on line, and if anything this so far completely proves her right. I love line, however, and I find myself hoping I do not get bored and end up watercoloring the pages I have already finished. What I find interesting about it is despite their being only two colors (black and white) the lines get so tangled in on themselves that you get greys, and texture, and confusion. It's rather hypnotizing.

I did the cover in crayon, which I have been on a bend with recently. Crayons are very irritating in that they do not stay sharp past your first three marks or so, but they lay beautifully varied lines. Even their dull tips can be appreciated in the bold thick lines they create. It helps that crayons smell very good.

Marcelle

Is the protagonist. And a werewolf. He has a drinking problem.

Davet

Is Marcelle's little brother. Not a werewolf. Has a general indulgence problem -- drinking, gambling, etc.

Xarles

Is Davet's best friend. Very macho. Shares Davet's proclivities for indulgence.

Verel

Is the antagonist. And a werewolf. He is a psychopath.

Mirielle

Is Verel's older sister. A bit of a flirt, but not a bad person.

Emmelline

Is Marcelle's co-worker and childhood friend. She is very reserved, but very clever too.

Cateline

Is Emmelline's littler sister. She is very pretty and feminine.

Melisande

Is Cateline's best friend. Also very pretty and feminine. But somewhat more self-aware.

Dr. Waechter

Is a mysterious "criminal profiler."

Mr. Wischard

Is a corrupt policeman.

Mr. Godenot

Is Mr. Wischard's lackey. Not very bright.
